DCArt Studio

Period 2

Studio Art 3-4

Advanced studio practice — student-driven

Enjoy the process and grow as a community. Deeper, more student-driven, and more open to the community than Entry Art.

For students who have the fundamentals. The focus shifts from learning the elements and principles to applying them with intention — a personal body of work, refined technique across media, and a portfolio. Studio Art students mentor Art 1-2 when content overlaps.

  1. Yeah That's Me — big (Weeks 1–2)

Identity piece, large scale, two comfort-zone risks.

  2. Unit 1 — The Basics, applied

Fast refresher, then a lived-in 2-point environment with two characters interacting, and a value/color study.

  3. The Branch — student-driven projects

Students choose their own projects. Every 4th project must be outside their comfort zone.

  4. Murals

Studio Art leads 2 of the 3 mural tarps for The Grand. Minimum 4 students per mural.
