DraftAcrylic Painting Basics
Why acrylic dries so fast (try the drying clock), which brush makes which mark, and how to mix any color from red, yellow, blue, white, and black. Then practice six strokes in the brush lab, learn the set-up and clean-up routine, and print a stroke sampler to paint for real.
For teachers
Three levels (Explore, Core, Challenge), Listen buttons, and a Spanish glossary, same as the other lessons. Chapter 3 is a color-mixing game that reinforces the color wheel; Chapter 4 has a digital brush lab plus the printable 6-box sampler (print on cardstock). Three places in Chapter 5 are underlined placeholders for your room: where smocks are kept, sink rules, and where paint and palettes are stored. Edit those in public/lessons/acrylics.html (search for 'Your room'). The Hockney note (A Bigger Splash, 1967, acrylic) shows at Challenge level only; double-check it before presenting. Answer key: Teacher, then Answer keys.
